about the fund

According to Resolution No. (119) for the year 2012, a fund called “The Marriage Facilitation Fund” was established, with legal personality and independent financial liability, allegiance to the Ministry of Social Affairs. Then, according to Resolution No. (307) for the year 2021, the affiliation of the Marriage Support Fund was transferred from the Ministry of Social Affairs to the Ministry of Youth in the Unity Government. The National Fund, to change the name of the fund from “marriage support” to “facilitate marriage” under Resolution No. (540) for the year 2021.

MFF's philosophy

Paying attention to the first nucleus of society calls for the family to consider the sanctity that Islam accords to it. This is what must be done when setting development plans in the state. Researching ways of social development as an essential component of sustainable development, and with the data of population policies restricting population growth that were pursued in the past; This resulted in the necessity of having an executive administrative body that undertakes two main tasks:

    Supporting the marriage of young people who have never been married due to the lack of financial resources and the possibility of starting a family and ensuring its stability.

    Manage investments to ensure the sustainability of the financial resources that support marriage, and encourage marriage at an appropriate age for the proper establishment of the Libyan family.

Functions of the Marriage Facilitation Fund
Encouraging the marriage of citizens, and removing the obstacles that face it.
Preserving social cohesion and cohesion among members of the community.
Raising awareness about social responsibility.
Contribute to achieving family security to achieve economic and social stability for families.
Participation in setting policies and programs related to family security.
Providing financial grants to citizens of the country with limited capabilities to help them with the costs of marriage.
Reducing the phenomenon of marrying foreigners, and raising awareness of its social effects.
Contribute to the achievement of family stability in society.
Carrying out religious, cultural, and social awareness campaigns to implement the social and population policy of the state, in coordination with the ministries and the competent authorities.
Assistance in providing the required housing for those wishing to marry who cannot provide it based on their own ability.
Supporting mass wedding programs organized by charities.
Strategic Objectives of the Marriage Facilitation Fund
Strengthening the family institution to achieve community cohesion.
Contribute to the elimination of the phenomenon of delay in the age of marriage for both sexes.
Providing a family environment based on interdependence, cooperation and participation, in accordance with the understanding of the Islamic religion and human rights.
Reducing the spread of negative phenomena in society resulting from the delay in the age of marriage.
Increasing family awareness of the rules of forming a healthy family and working to achieve family stability in society.
Strengthening the principle of community partnership with the private sector to finance the programs, plans and objectives of the Fund.
Conducting qualitative research and studies that contribute to the development of methodological plans, and issuing brochures and pamphlets that concern the educational aspect of the family.
